The Bigger Picture…

If you’re thinking about buying an original work of art online from The Shining Tree, some advice, in-brief. To help you reach a decision, it helps if you can come and see the work for yourself, either at our cottage or the artist’s home/studio. Perhaps you already know the artist’s work – of course this helps too! If you’ll cover my transport costs or, if I’m passing by anyway, I’m happy to visit you with the artwork/s you’re interested in, I like to travel up and down the UK often. Furthermore, I’m happy to send you additional images of artworks, or answer any questions. More information below, including details about The Shining Tree Interest Free scheme.

Welcome. The Shining Tree, based in Gilcrux (gil-cruise), Cumbria, is an online art gallery – as well as a workshop/studio and occasional exhibition space for artists and makers.

The Shining Tree specialises in contemporary British fine art and design; including a small selection of art and design from other European countries – some from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Original works of art and design should be “for everyone” so I offer interest free instalment payments on any order over £50. UK shipping is free of charge and, personal delivery of paintings or precious ceramics is available for a charge to cover the cost of my transport. Any questions? My contact details are on this page, happy to help.

The exhibition space is within two rooms of a humble late 16th century family home. Exhibiting artworks within the informal space of our own home is, for us, keeping it real, and there’s almost always someone around. You’re more than welcome to visit, please ‘phone me or mail me first – mail Debbie Taylor

All purchases from the online shop, from exhibitions here – and from pop-up exhibitions at other locations, help to support graduate and postgraduate artists and makers, whatever their age. Your purchase also helps to support The Shining Tree’s modest Artist in Residence programme. Lyndal Mount, Gilcrux, Cumbria CA72QX. Telephone 016973-21753.
